Snowshoeing (December to March)
In the winter, the snow transforms the mountains into a winter wonderland. Until very recently, the winter transit of snowy terrain was only for mountaineers and cross-country skiers but the popularisation of snowshoes has opened endless possibilities for mountaineering enthusiasts. Come and give snowshoeing a try if it's your first time or, if you've already done it before, we can take you on longer trips in outstanding snowy scenery.
Our snowshoeing trips are either 3 day trips, which makes for a perfect long weekend getaway, or more challenging 6 day trips for those with more time who want to see more of the area. Each morning you'll be picked up from your accommodation and you'll be dropped off again in the afternoon/evening when the day's walking is finished. Daily distances depend on ability of the group, but are approximately as follows:
Introductory level: from 4 to 13 km and from 150m to 550m total ascent.
Intermediate level: from 5 to 14km and from 300m to 950m total ascent.
